What is it?

Beeswax is the wax produced by bees in order to build their honeycombs. It’s carefully shaped by the worker bees into the hexagonal cells that make up the colony’s honeycomb. Beeswax remains solid through a wide temperature range, allowing it to withstand the fluctuations in seasons when it comes to beauty products.

It contains about 300 compounds such as alkanes, acids, esters, polyesters and hydroxy esters, and is a natural emulsifier that helps cosmetics and skin care lotions to bind. Beeswax has a lovely natural scent and helps to keep the skin intensely moisturised.

Why do we use it in our products?

- The high concentration of Vitamin A is important for the production of collagen which keeps skin looking smooth, firm and plump, reducing the appearance of stretch marks

- Beeswax adds a protective layer to the skin’s surface, helping it to lock in moisture and stay supple and hydrated

- It has anti-inflammatory properties

- It has a lovely natural golden colour and wonderfully fresh scent
