What is it?
A sweet, syrupy, fragrant substance produced by bees. The honeybee originated in Africa then migrated to Europe and Asia. Honeybees not only produce honey but they pollinate a variety of plant and flower species which are the foundation of our global food production.
Though it’s often used as a sweetener in cooking and baking, it contains amino acids, vitamins and minerals such as vitamins B & C, calcium, copper, iron and magnesium that nourish skin and keep it looking healthy.
Why do we use it in our products?
- It’s full of antioxidants which help defend against free radical damage, prevent wrinkles and signs of ageing
- It’s antibacterial, which helps with acne treatment and prevention
- It opens up and unclogs pores, cleansing skin and soothing irritation
- It’s a great moisturiser, nourishing and hydrating skin without leaving it looking oily or greasy
